How Much Does Pat Sajak Make? It’s Way More Than We Expected

When it comes to television game show hosts, Pat Sajak is definitely one of our favorites. And rightfully so, considering he’s held his position on Wheel of Fortune for an impressive 39 years, landing him 19 Daytime Emmy nominations. Not to mention, he even broke the Guinness World Record for the being longest running TV host.

And since we learned Vanna White’s massive fortune, we’ve been wondering just how much Pat Sajak makes. Like his partner, it’s a lot more than we expected. Keep reading for everything we know about the TV personality’s net worth.

1. What Is Pat Sajak’s Net Worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Pat Sajak is worth approximately $70 million (which just so happens to be the same as his co-host, White). We’re not necessarily surprised, since he’s been with the popular TV series almost 40 years.

2. How Much Does Pat Sajak Make On ‘wheel Of Fortune’?

Back in 1981, Sajak was offered the opportunity to take over as the host of Wheel of Fortune from Chuck Woolery. And he’s been hosting the show ever since.

As of 2020, the 74-year-old earns an annual salary of $15 million for his time on the show. According to Cheat Sheet, WOF only tapes four days per month, six episodes per day, which means he earns $312,500 per workday. Put another way, Sajak rakes in $52,083 per show. And it doesn’t seem like he’s stopping anytime soon. In fact, his hosting contract goes through 2022 and there’s always a possibility for it to be renewed or extended.

3. How Else Does He Make Money?

Before gracing the small screen every weeknight at 7:30 on-the-dot, Sajak built his resume in a variety of different businesses.

Per CNW, while attending University, Sajak spent his recreational time working for the local radio station, WEDC, as a news anchor. Not to mention, he also worked for Armed Forces Radio during his stint in Vietnam.

In 1977, Sajak landed his first major TV position as a full-time weatherman at KNBC-TV in Los Angeles. In addition to his work on the small screen, Sajak also starred in the film Airline II: The Sequel. Oh, and did we mention he had his own late-night talk show on CBS, The Pat Sajak Show? Unfortunately, that didn’t last long. Perhaps the most unique of his accomplishments would be that he’s also written several popular puzzle games.

We had no idea.
