New Harlan Coben Series ‘Caught’ Is #3 on Netflix Just Hours After Premiering—Here’s Why

It's worth the watch

I’m a sucker for an edge-of-your-seat Harlan Coben TV adaptation. Several of the author’s novels have been turned into Netflix shows, ranging from Fool Me Once to Stay Close. And his latest addition, Caught, doesn’t disappoint.

Caught just hit Netflix on March 26, and within a matter of hours, it’s already claimed the number three spot on the streaming service’s list of most-watched shows. (It’s currently ranked behind two equally binge-worthy series, Adolescence and The Residence.)

The story focuses on Ema Garay (played by Soledad Villamil), a renowned journalist who has a knack for tracking down criminals. Her skills are put to the ultimate test when she’s tasked with investigating the disappearance of a teenage girl.

The problem? The prime suspect is a well-respected man in the community, and he doesn’t fit the mold of a typical online sexual abuser. This prompts Ema to question if he’s misunderstood or really good at masking his true intentions.

Similar to other Coben adaptations, there’s more to the story than just the investigation. In addition to her personal life, Ema is also battling past demons that eventually come back to get her.

Other cast members include Alberto Ammann, Juan Minujín, Matías Recalt, Carmela Rivero, Maite Aguilar, Victoria Almeida, Patricio Aramburu and Tania Casciani.

Caught is just one of Coben’s novels that have been turned into a Netflix show. It joins the likes of Fool Me Once, Stay Close, Hold Tight, The Innocent, Gone for Good, The Stranger, The Woods and Safe, all of which had successful runs when they originally premiered. The most recent additions are Missing You, Just One Look and, of course, Caught

If you need me, I’ll be binge-watching all six episodes of Caught
