If you’ve been watching the new Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, you’re probably familiar with Hannah Waddingham, who stars alongside Jason Sudeikis. Although she’s appeared in a number of popular shows, we’ve known very little about the 45-year-old actress’s personal life…until now.

She’s an English actress who’s been making a name for herself in Hollywood. Although she got her start in theater, she has since appeared in a number of noteworthy projects, including Into the Woods, My Family, Bad Education, Les Misérables, Benidorm, Doctors, Partners in Crime, In the Club, Game of Thrones, The Hustle and Krypton.
Waddingham most recently starred as Sofia Marchetti in Sex Education and Rebecca in Ted Lasso, which was just renewed for season two.
Sure can. Waddingham comes from a family of opera singers, including her mom and maternal grandparents. As a classically trained musician, she has appeared in several musical theater productions, like The Wizard of Oz (played Wicked Witch of the West) and Spamalot (played Lady of the Lake).
Indeed. She played Septa Unella, a devoted follower of the High Sparrow who tried (and failed) to get Cersei to confess her sins. Some people might not have recognized Waddingham in Game of Thrones, since her scenes were limited. However, she appeared in eight episodes over the course of seasons five, six and eight.
She’s not married, but she’s been with her current partner, Gianluca Cugnetto, for about a decade. The pair share one child together (who was born in 2014), but they haven’t publicly revealed the sex or name.
