Netflix’s ‘Crash Landing on You’ Is the Romantic Drama We Need Right Now

When it comes to Netflix content, we pretty much consider ourselves experts at this point. Need to get into the holiday spirit? We’ve got you covered. Looking for some action-packed flicks? Try one of these. But just because we’ve become increasingly familiar with what the streaming service has to offer doesn’t mean we know everything. So, when we came across the Korean series, Crash Landing on You, we were immediately curious. And when we realized the show had stellar reviews (it’s officially the second-highest-rated drama in Korean TV history), we simply needed to know more.

So, what is Crashing Landing on You about? And who stars in it? Keep reading for everything we know.

1. What Is ‘crash Landing On You’ About?

In short, the series follows the romance of two affluent young adults who fall in love after the heiress crash lands in North Korea while paragliding in Seoul. However, their romance gets complicated when family, fights, old baggage and cultural differences (shall we continue?) get involved.

The show’s official synopsis reads: “Starring two of the most popular Korean actors Hyun Bin (Memories of the Alhambra, Secret Garden) and Son Ye-jin (Something in the Rain, A Moment to Remember) as the main cast, Crash Landing on You is a love story of an oddly-matched couple. Yun Se-ri, played by Son Ye-jin, is a beautiful heiress and a leading fashion businesswoman in South Korea, and she meets North Korean military officer Ri Jeong-hyeok, played by Hyun Bin when she is swept up by a wind storm and accidentally crashes in North Korean territory while paragliding.”

We honestly don’t even know how to properly categorize it considering it has aspects of romance, drama, comedy, action and suspense. Oh, and since the entire thing is in Korean, you may need to keep the subtitles on.

2. Who’s In It?

Aside from Bin and Son Ye-jin, the series also stars Seo Ji-Hye (Don’t Dare to Dream), Kim Jung-Hyun (Mr. Queen), Yang Kyung-Won (Hi Bye, Mama!), Yoo Su-Bin (Start-Up), Lee Sin-Young (Awaken) and Tang Joon-Sang (The King’s Letters).

3. Is There A Trailer?

Sure is. And it pretty much gives you a glimpse of the series without giving away too much. In fact, it honestly doesn’t show more than the two love birds meeting and Ri Jeong-hyeok telling Yun Se-ri that everything is going to be ok “soon.” So, if you want more than that, we recommend starting episode one.
