The New #1 Movie on Netflix Is Based on a Best-Selling Romance Novel

Need new streaming content? We’ve got you covered.

Introducing Netflix’s brand-new movie After We Collided, which is the sequel to After. It has only been on the streaming service for 24 hours and it’s already claimed the number one spot on Netflix’s list of most-watched films. (It’s currently ranked ahead of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Excuse Me, I Love You, The Christmas Chronicles 2 and A California Christmas.)

After We Collided is based on the namesake 2014 romance novel by Anna Todd. It tells the story of Tessa (Josephine Langford), a young woman who lands an internship at a publishing house. After a drunken fling with her British ex-boyfriend, Hardin (Hero Fiennes-Tiffin), she explores the possibility of getting back together.

The movie has everything we could ever want in a book-to-film adaptation: It has hook-ups. It has a love triangle. And it has a NSFW montage. What more could we ask for?

In addition to Fiennes-Tiffin and Langford (AKA the sister of 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford), After We Collided also stars Dylan Sprouse (Trevor), Louise Lombard (Trish), Shane Paul McGhie (Landon), Candice King (Kimberly), Charlie Weber (Christian), Samuel Larsen (Zed), Karimah Westbrook (Karen), Rob Estes (Ken), Inanna Sarkis (Molly), Selma Blair (Carol) and Pia Mia (Tristan).

The movie was directed by Roger Kumble (Cruel Intentions). Todd penned the screenplay alongside Mario Celaya (Gasp).

Oh, and did we mention After We Collided is rated R? Better put the kiddos to bed before streaming this one, folks.
