I think I speak for the majority when I say that the most annoying thing about any beauty routine is having to remove your makeup after a long day. No one wants to spend their life scrubbing away foundation or attempting to remove waterproof mascara minutes before passing out. And while I always want to fall face first into my bed, I’ve learned that it’s not the best idea. Yes, there are plenty of ways to go about removing your makeup, but I’ve grown especially fond of using the Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm to get the job done. It’s truly made removing makeup a quick and easy process (and dare I say fun?)

What Is the Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm?

This cleansing balm melts away makeup (yes, even the stubborn kind) and gently cleanses away any impurities from your skin. It’s formulated with a few moisturizing ingredients such as sunflower oil, which is known to protect against environmental stressors (i.e., the sun), support the skin barrier and help your skin retain moisture. You’ll also find ginger root oil, which has been proven to improve texture and soothe inflammation, as well as turmeric that has a long history of brightening the skin, preventing acne and soothing existing breakouts.

The ingredient list also includes moringa extract, which some some studies have shown can help revitalize the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines, and papaya enzymes to exfoliate and clear pores, which is particularly helpful after a full day of wearing foundation.

What Does a Beauty Editor Really Think About the Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm?

I’ve been using this cleansing balm all year long and I haven’t wanted to use anything else to remove my makeup. Thanks to the little spatula that’s included with the jar, I’m able to grab the perfect amount of product every time and it prevents me from having to get my hands in it. Once applied, it feels so gentle on my skin, and I’m able to use it all over my cheeks, brows and even lashes without feeling any sting. The brand says the balm has a “sorbet-like” texture and I completely agree. It literally melts into your skin—turning from a solid balm to a silky liquid to a milky lather in seconds. It feels more like a luxurious face mask than a makeup remover.

The first time I used it, I didn’t have high hopes that it was going to remove all of my makeup. But as I dried my face, I was surprised to see that there was little to no residue leftover on my microfiber towel. What sort of sorcery was this, I thought.

I also appreciated how my skin felt after the product was washed off. When it comes to other makeup removers, they often strip away my natural oils and leave me with super dry skin. That’s never been the case with this balm. Instead, I’m left with dewier, softer skin than before. I continue with the rest of my skincare routine feeling even more rejuvenated and refreshed.

Is It Worth the Purchase?

Farmacy

Yes. To persuade you even more: The makeup remover is cruelty-free and comes in a recyclable jar in three sizes (1.7, 3.4 and 6.8 ounces). Whether you pick the travel, regular or jumbo size, you’ll get plenty of bang for your buck. As mentioned, the spatula is helpful in doling out just enough balm to get the job done without being wasteful, so you can use your jar for a long time before you have to repurchase another.

And as much as I love the texture of the balm, I also need to call out the scent. I use the original scent, which features fresh lime, bergamot and orange notes that make it smell like a tropical drink. (They recently launched a limited edition strawberry shortcake scent that I’m dying to try out next.) Lastly, the balm works on all skin types, but is especially great for us dry skin girlies.

Bottom line: If you’re looking for a gentle, yet effective way to remove your makeup, this cleansing balm is a game changer. As someone who gets super lazy with the removal process, this product has made it ten times easier (and faster) to wash my face at night. It also keeps my skin hydrated, which will come in handy as the weather cools down.
