For most of us, rewearing an outfit is no big deal—it’s actually pretty normal. But when it comes to celebrities and red carpets, it’s usually a different story. Stars typically go all out, picking new outfits to make sure they land on the best-dressed list (or at least avoid being on the worst). However, this year, a few celebs decided to skip the stress of finding something fresh and instead dug into their own closets for the 2025 Golden Globe Awards.

Viola Davis was one of those stars. The 59-year-old actress, who was honored with the 2025 Cecil B. DeMille Award during this year's ceremony, kicked off the season in a stunning floor-length black Gucci gown. The sparkling dress featured a plunging neckline and a dramatic sheer cape with subtle rainbow accents.

If the look seems familiar, you're not hallucinating—she wore the same dress just two months ago at the 2024 LACMA Art+Film Gala. At the Gala, the dress was all black with no rainbow accents, but Davis still looked incredible in both versions.

Davis wasn’t the only one rewearing a red carpet look. Cate Blanchett also chose to recycle a golden Louis Vuitton dress for her Golden Globe debut this year. The gold sequin gown, which features ornate details on the chest and shoulders, had a draped feature across the chest. If it looks familiar, that’s because she wore it at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Rumours. Like Davis, Blanchett made a slight tweak—this time, the ornamentation covered the entire upper chest, whereas at Cannes, it was just on the shoulders.

It turns out, celebrities are just like us. Stars like Davis and Blanchett show that you can rewear an outfit and still look fabulous.
