You've probably heard the name Misha Nonoo thrown around by now. The royal-adjacent fashion designer has known Meghan Markle since her Suits days and is rumored to have set up Prince Harry and the former actress.
Meghan Markle's BFF Misha Nonoo Reveals What They "Bonded Over from the Early Years"
Markle and Nonoo attended the launch event for their clothing capsule collection yesterday at John Lewis in London, and Nonoo spoke to Today about her friendship with the Duchess of Sussex.
"No comment," she said and laughed in response to the question of whether she played matchmaker for Markle and Prince Harry.
Nonoo did recently help launch the duchess's latest endeavor, a five-piece workwear collection called the "Smart Set." Benefitting Markle's patronage, Smart Works, a charity that helps women re-enter the workplace, the collection features a Nonoo-designed white button-down (that Markle wore for the launch), along with pants, a blazer, a dress and a leather work tote. The 1:1 model of the collection means that for every item purchased, one of the same is donated to Smart Works.
"I think that is something that her and I bonded over from the very early days of our relationship," Nonoo said. "That she genuinely seeks to help people. It comes from a place deep within her where she really wants to make people's lives better."
Awww. (Also, we're pretty sure our BFFs would've said we bonded over rosé and avocado toast. So...same, same.)
"She's the consummate professional, and she's been extremely hands-on in the project, and it's something that she's really passionate about,'' Nonoo continued.
She also revealed a bit more about the Sussexes' upcoming Royal Tour of Africa.
"When she goes to Africa with Prince Harry and their new little one, she is going to do some events there on empowering women. She's really interested in empowering women around the world," Nonoo said.
The royal tour kicks off on September 23 in Cape Town, South Africa.
