It's been a while since we last saw the Duchess of Sussex grace the red carpet, but judging by her recent return to the spotlight, she hasn't missed a beat. On Thursday night, Meghan Markle, 42, made a rare red carpet appearance sans husband Prince Harry at Variety’s "Power of Women" gala in Los Angeles. The Suits alum stole the show in an elegant, beige off-the-shoulder dress by Proenza Schouler ($1,390). The floor-length gown, which features multiple slits at the thigh, was paired with black heels and a matching leather clutch purse.

Markle wore her hair in a sleek bun, donning a pair of small hoop earrings and adopting the soft glam look to keep with the minimalist theme.
Variety's star-studded event included this year's list of honorees Fantasia Barrino, Billie Eilish, Lily Gladstone and Carey Mulligan—and Markle couldn't have been more supportive of them. In her red-carpet interview, she said, "I'm just so proud to be able to support the women that are here. ... It's really special. So happy to be in such good community."
Royal enthusiasts may recall that Markle was an honoree last year, though she was unable to attend the event.
This appearance comes six months after she last walked the red carpet with Prince Harry at this year's Ms. Foundation Women of Vision Awards, for which she wore a stylish metallic gold dress by Johanna Ortiz (now sold out) that featured a center leg split and diamond-shaped keyhole cutout.
During the ceremony, the duchess received an award presented by feminist activist Gloria Steinem. In her acceptance speech, she paid a special tribute to the honorees and said, “Thank you for the important and meaningful work that you do. Nothing could compare to the focus, the determination, the energy I feel from each of you, especially as we all bear witness to you standing in the elegance and the power of your strength.”
Although that dazzling gold gown is currently unavailable online, her latest red-carpet ensemble is currently on sale at Neiman Marcus. However, if you'd rather not break the bank on a pricier gown, we found similar styles. You can get this asymmetric dress at Zara ($129) or Prinbara's elegant off-shoulder dress ($43) on Amazon.
