King Charles and Queen Camilla are saying “bon voyage” to their summer residence, Balmoral Castle in Scotland, to embark on their state visit to France

Earlier today, the royal couple touched down at Paris-Orly Airport in France, where they received a warm welcome from the French Prime Minister, Ms. Elisabeth Borne.

The king, 74, and queen, 76, announced their arrival in a post on the X (formerly known as Twitter). In the clip, His and Her Majesty are walking beside the prime minister and surrounded by the Guard of Honor (consisting of 20 guardsmen).

The caption read, “Their Majesties The King and Queen have arrived in Paris for their first State Visit to France since His Majesty’s Accession.”

During the three-day trip, King Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, will visit Paris and Bordeaux to celebrate and learn more about the history, culture and values shared between the United Kingdom and France.

As expected, the king and queen have a busy itinerary. The royal couple first stopped at the Arc de Triomphe, where they were greeted by the president of France and his wife.

Next, the royals watched the French Air Force flying team perform an official welcome ceremony. The king and queen closed out the evening by attending the state banquet, which was held at the Palace of Versailles.
