Emmy Rossum just fooled us (again), and we can’t believe we didn’t see this coming.
Yesterday, the Shameless alum, 36, announced on Instagram that she and her husband, Sam Esmail, have secretly welcomed their second child. (If the news comes as a surprise, that’s because Rossum never publicly revealed that she was pregnant.)
The first photo in the slideshow features a hospital certificate with the baby’s birthday, weight, length and footprints. The second pic is a never-before-seen snap of Rossum’s pregnant belly, and it is followed by a black-and-white photo of the newborn.
“04.05.23,” the caption read. “On a foggy Wednesday morning, our son was born.”
Fans filled the comments section with congratulatory messages for the growing family. Someone wrote, “Ahh yay congrats!!” Another added, “The fact none of us knew she was pregnant again [smiling emoji] she’s so good at hiding it [red heart emoji] congratulations Emmy.” Of course, one fan referenced Shameless: “Another little Gallagher.”
This isn’t the first time that Rossum has hidden a baby bump from her fans. Back in 2021, the actress did the same thing with her first child, a daughter whose name hasn’t been publicly revealed. She has been notoriously private about her daughter’s life, so we expect the same for her newest addition.
