Target's New Washable Flats Remind Me of Rothy's—Only They're $16

They look *much* more expensive

Ballet flats have been back for a while now and are going to continue as a top footwear trend as we enter fall. We're huge fans of Rothy's here at PureWow—and we're firm believers that you can never have too many pairs of shoes. That's why, when I saw that Target launched its own take on washable flats, I had to take a closer look. Especially considering they're on sale for $16.

Whether ballet flats are your go-to shoe for the office or you want to test the style out for the first time, the low price point of this Target design makes it an easy decision to add at least one or two pairs to your cart.

A New Day

If you like a comfy, versatile pair of flats that are easy to maintain, this set is right up your alley. The upper is made of a knit material that looks a little like the mesh flats everyone is obsessed with right now, but the real benefit is that it gives them a little stretch, so they're easy to walk in without tearing up your feet (unlike the scratchy mesh trend). As for the machine-washable part, all you have to do is remove the insole, toss the flats in the wash and pop the insoles back in once they're dry. It also has a little bit of support since it's made of EVA, and you can even see the arch support along the side of the insole.

They come in four colorways—red, black, leopard print and a beige/black combo (though that one is currently sold out)—that are sure to elevate any outfit. "These are the best flats I think I’ve ever owned," says one customer. "They’re not only super cute but they’re also super comfortable. I ordered online and was worried about the sizing, especially since I have wide feet. I’m a 7.5W and got a 7.5, and they fit perfectly. My only complaint is that there aren’t more colors!"

There aren't any specific washing instructions, but the brand says you can toss these in a washing machine for easy upkeep when they get dirty. Sounds easy enough, to me! I'll take five pairs, please.
