I love an enticing thriller as much as the next gal. (I’ve watched Denzel Washington’s serial killer flick, The Little Things, more than once, but who’s counting?) So, when I saw the new Italian suspenseful drama Vanished Into the Night sitting at the number three spot on Netflix’s top ten movies list, I was undoubtedly intrigued.

Vanished Into the Night (which debuted on Netflix on July 11) follows an estranged couple named Pietro and Elena, who are currently in the middle of filing for divorce. While Elena is away in Milan, Pietro agrees to watch their two children, Bianca and Giovanni. During the night, they go missing without a trace. Soon, Pietro and Elena receive a terrifying call: It’s a man demanding 150,000 euros in cash in exchange for their children’s safety. Can the couple raise the money before it’s too late?

Take it from someone who’s watched the trailer more than once: This movie is jam-packed with heart-pounding moments. And for those who find long movies a bit daunting to watch, Vanished Into the Night might be right up your alley. FYI, this movie is 92 minutes long.

Directed by Renato De Maria (who’s worked on Netflix’s The Ruthless and Robbing Mussolini), Vanished Into the Night stars Riccardo Scamarcio (The Players, The Ruthless) as Pietro La Torre, Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders) as Elena Walgren, Massimiliano Gallo (The Hand of God) as Nicola, Gaia Coletti as Bianca and Lorenzo Ferrante (Supereroi) as Giovanni.
