This Comic Book Adaptation Starring Chris Evans & Idris Elba Just Hit #1 on Netflix

If we see the names Chris Evans and Idris Elba, we immediately say: “One ticket, please.”

That’s exactly what happened with the pair’s 2010 action flick, The Losers. It premiered on Netflix this past weekend and has already jumped into the number one spot on the list of top movies.

However, if those names somehow aren't enough, we'll do a little more explaining. The Losers was adapted from a DC Vertigo comic book series, following a group of special operatives who are sent on a doomed mission.

Besides Evans and Elba, the star-studded cast includes Zoe Saldana, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Columbus Short. It was directed by Sylvain White (Stomp the Yard), while Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) and James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man) wrote the screenplay. Check out the trailer below.

“C.I.A.? N.S.A.? Special Forces? We're not them—we're the losers,” Morgan says in the trailer. “But even the government's best...get betrayed.”

When these "losers" are sent on a search-and-destroy mission, they encounter a change of plans when they decide to rescue a group of enslaved children. However, when they become stranded in the process, they must find a way back home...without getting killed.

Superhero-style action, Clue-like mystery, a bestselling source material and a star-studded cast? Sounds like a winning formula to us. We'll be adding this to our queue.
