‘Stranger Things 4’ Just Broke Three Netflix Records (Sorry, ‘Bridgerton’)

Watch out Bridgerton, Stranger Things may be coming for your crown.

It’s only been two weeks since the highly anticipated Stranger Things 4 dropped on Netflix—and it’s already breaking records. The streaming service has reported the sci-fi series broke not one, not two, but three new records during its time on the platform.

For instance, it became the most-watched season of English-language TV in a single week, with a whopping 335.01M hours viewed last week. The series also claimed the number 1 spot in 91 countries, which is a first for an English television series.

On top of that, Stranger Things 4 became the first television series to jump to the top three of Netflix’s most popular list with 621.80M hours viewed, in less than two weeks of its premiere.

In addition, Stranger Things fans revisited previous seasons of the series, which led to the first season earning 75.08M hours viewed last week, season two getting 58.27M hours viewed and season three receiving 47.42M hours viewed.

Bridgerton season two remains the most popular English television show on Netflix, with 656.26M hours viewed in the first 28 days. Meanwhile, the first season claimed the number two spot and has 625.49M hours viewed. But Stranger Things 4 isn’t that far behind. As of right now, it has 621.80M hours viewed.

Stranger Things 4 follows Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Will (Noah Schnapp), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink) trying to navigate the world of high school. But, the group is confronted with a new monster from the Upside Down: Vecna. He prays on teenagers through their dreams, by using their fears against them. The gang comes back together to stop Vecna before it’s too late.

Just by looking at how well Stranger Things 4 Volume 1 is performing, we can only imagine the numbers Volume 2 will pull in.
