HBO's murder mystery, The White Lotus, has been all the rage since it debuted in 2021. With its stellar cast, stunning visuals and witty humor, the anthology series already has 15 Emmy Awards to its name, and fans can expect to see season three premiere in 2025. But until then, how are we supposed to fill the White Lotus void?

The answer, dear murder mystery fans, is Netflix's new series, The Perfect Couple—which also happens to be the streaming service's number-one show on its top ten list. Based on Elin Hilderbrand's novel of the same name, the show follows Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson), a young woman who plans to marry into a wealthy family. Although her future mother-in-law, Greer (Nicole Kidman) disapproves, she plans an extravagant wedding party. All seems to go well—until a dead body turns up.

Naturally, chaos ensues as everyone at the party becomes a suspect. But similar to The White Lotus, The Perfect Couple zeroes in on filthy-rich people who do detestable things. It features a star-studded cast and, as you'd expect, there's plenty of dysfunction hiding beneath the glamour and picturesque views.

In a joint interview with Kidman, Liev Schreiber, who plays the groom's father, told Entertainment Tonight that he was immediately drawn to the show's script and themes. He said, "After talking to Nicole and [Director Susanne Bier] about American aristocracy and how darkly comic it was going to be, which was really important to me, and once we started to talk about ways of getting inside that and things that we could do to access some of the more delightful and perverse aspects of this community, then I was sold."

Another major bonus is that the series opens with a fun dance sequence. While chatting with DC Film Girl, Hewson said, "I was front and center living out my High School Musical dreams, and then everybody else kind of got into it."

Meghann Fahy, who plays the bride's BFF, Merritt, added, "Yeah, eventually it was like you just couldn't fight the music. We had done it like five times and eventually gave in."

Other cast members include Billy Howle, Dakota Fanning, Ishaan Khattar, Jack Reynor and Sam Nivola. All six episodes are now available to stream on Netflix.
