We Barely Recognized Naomi Watts in These Pics of Her Filming in NYC

Last we saw Naomi Watts, she was sporting her usual blonde hair and a Hamptons-esque white-and-beige ensemble in Netflix’s The Watcher. But this week, she was spotted on the streets of Manhattan with an entirely different look. So different in fact that she was barely recognizable to us when we first saw the pics.

Naomi Watts and Tom Hollander were snapped filming Feud: Capote’s Women in NYC on January 24. Dressed as their respective characters, Babe Paley and Truman Capote, they were seen in ’70s garb, Hollander in a scarf, newsboy cap and Capote’s signature glasses and Watts in a fur-lined coat, turtleneck and leather gloves.

They’re working on the second season of the Ryan Murphy series, the first being Feud: Bette and Joan, which starred Jessica Lange as Joan Crawford and Susan Sarandon as Bette Davis. Capote’s Women is an adaptation of the bestselling book, Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betray and a Swan Song for an Era, by Laurence Leamer. It recounts how Truman Capote, after the success of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and In Cold Blood, befriended women in high society and later betrayed them in order to write what he believed would be his masterwork.

Watts was also seen filming in November 2022, this time in a dusty rose peacoat, gray gloves and a retro scarf wrapped around her head.

The second season of Feud also stars other big names like Calista Flockhart, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Ella Beatty, Molly Ringwald and Demi Moore. There’s no set date for the season premiere yet, but with a stacked cast list like this, we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out.
