This Jamie Foxx Show Just Hit #1 on Netflix After a Matter of Hours

Netflix’s latest series is pretty much a cross between Family Reunion and Fuller House. (And you won’t hear us complaining.)

Dad Stop Embarrassing Me just premiered on the streaming service earlier this week, and it’s already claimed the number one spot on Netflix’s list of most-watched shows. The sitcom is currently ranked ahead of The Circle, Who Killed Sara?, This Is a Robbery: The World’s Biggest Art Heist, Cocomelon and The Serpent.

So, what’s all the hype? Dad Stop Embarrassing Me introduces viewers to Brian Dixon (Jamie Foxx), a cosmetics brand owner who’s forced to own his role as a single dad when his teenage daughter, Sasha (Kyla-Drew), unexpectedly moves in with him. The eight-episode series documents several relatable parenting moments, which are only amplified by Sasha’s strong-minded personality.

In addition to his starring role as Brian, Foxx plays three other characters: Reverend Sweet Tee, Cadillac Calvin and Rusty. Not only did the actor co-create Dad Stop Embarrassing Me alongside Jim Patterson (Two and a Half Men, The Ranch), but he also co-wrote the story and served as executive producer.

Other cast members include David Alan Grier (Pops Dixon), Porscha Coleman (Chelsea Dixon), Jonathan Kite (Johnny Williams) and Heather Hemmens (Stacy Collins).

Cue the canned laughter.
