Everyone knows that a “selfie” refers to the act of taking a photo of yourself. But what is a “belfie”?

Actress Carlacia Grant recently sat down for an exclusive interview with PureWow to promote to her all-new partnership with e.l.f. x American Eagle (more on this later). The Outer Banks star, 32, also demonstrated how to take a belfie in honor of the brand’s “From Selfie to Belfie” campaign.

“A selfie is a picture of yourself,” Grant told PureWow. “And a belfie is a picture of your jeans.” (FYI, belfie is short for “butt selfie.”)

The actress also shared tips for taking a belfie, adding, “You can either do it in the mirror or you cannot, but it’s all about the angle. So usually, because it is a denim look, make the camera lower—like below your waist. Put the camera there and give it a little tilt. A little hip action also goes very far.”

Grant is currently promoting the newly launched e.l.f. x American Eagle collection. The beauty brand just released three denim-inspired products: Denim Daze Eyeshadow Palette ($16), Get Cheeky Clay Mask ($11) and Perfect Phit Lip Balm ($8), along with a bundle ($50) that includes a bonus makeup bag.

“The colors are literally inspired by American Eagle jeans—some blue and cool tones of brown,” Grant told PureWow. “It’s like your favorite pair of jeans in your favorite eyeshadow.”

The Outer Banks star also explained how to use her favorite product, the Get Cheeky Clay Mask. “After I wash my face, I use a toner, and then I’ll go in with the clay mask,” Grant said. “It smells like fresh linen, so immediately it’s like waking up your senses. Once you put it on, it, it exfoliates your skin [but] it’s hydrating at the same time. And once you wash it off, your skin looks plump.”
