And just like that, Carrie and Aidan are back together.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, And Just Like That… series creator Michael Patrick King talked about the upcoming season (which premieres in June, BTW) and how he is beyond excited for Aidan Shaw’s (John Corbett) return in the new installment.

“I started season 2 knowing I was bringing Aidan back, and I felt very strongly about that,” he shared with the publication.

So, is it likely the two will rekindle their old flame? The answer is…most definitely (probably). And this time around, there won't be the same complications. You see, in Sex and the City 2, fans learned Aidan was a married man. But, in the EW interview, King shared an update on his current relationship status.

“I would not make Carrie Bradshaw a home-wrecker. That’s the biggest leak I can give you. That’s not the story,” King revealed. “The story is [they're] open for business. They’re both single. You know how she’s single. You don’t know how Aidan’s single.”

Back in January, Carrie + Aidan shippers were thrilled when photos of the two former lovebirds’ reunion started spreading online. And this was only amplified when Sarah Jessica Parker shared a slideshow of PDA photos on her Instagram page, which showed her kissing Corbett.

Carrie and Aidan’s relationship goes as far back as the third and fourth seasons of Sex and the City, when the two started dating and got engaged. But, when Carrie cheated on him with John James Preston aka Mr. Big (Chris Noth), it was the end of their relationship.

June can’t come any faster.
