13 Hilarious "SNL" Sketches You Forgot About

In honor of VH1's upcoming "SNL" mega-marathon

Next Wednesday, January 28, VH1 starts airing The SNL Rewind: 2015-1975 Mega-Marathon. That’s right, it’s airing all 433 shows in reverse chronological order. Chances are you recall (and probably still quote) the more memorable sketches. (“More cowbell!” “Mom jeans!” “I’m on a boat!”) But what about all those other gems from the last 40 years? Here are the sketches you probably forgot about, also in reverse order.

Hermes (may 20, 2013)

With an assist from host Ben Affleck, Vanessa Bayer and Cecily Strong play two former porn stars creating a malapropism-laden homemade ad to score free luxury goods.

The Californians (april 14, 2012)

This soap-opera spoof featuring Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader and Fred Armisen is full of SoCal drama and surfer-dude accents.

Threw It On The Ground (october 3, 2009)

This music video from Andy Samberg’s side project, The Lonely Island, makes us want to, well, you get the idea.

Bronx Beat (january 13, 2007)

Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph play a pair of wise-crackin’ housewives who host a talk show--complete with Jake Gyllenhaal as their special guest.

Hot Tub Lovers (february 22, 2003)

Put Will Ferrell, Rachel Dratch, Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore in a hot tub and things are bound to get weird.

Jeffrey's (february 17, 2001)

Jimmy Fallon wears a man skirt and cracks up big time with guest star Sean Hayes in this spoof on high-fashion retail.

The Ambiguously Gay Duo (september 28, 1996)

Long before both were household names, Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell voiced two superheroes who patted each other on the rear end and drove a penis-shaped car.

Coffee Talk With Linda Richman (february 22, 1992)

Mike Myers, Madonna and Rosanne get the surprise of a lifetime. Discuss. (Hint: It's like butta.)

Chippendales Audition (october 27, 1990)

Funnyman Chris Farley. Super-hunk Patrick Swayze. And the dance-off to end all dance-offs.

Prose And Cons (october 3, 1981)

Eddie Murphy plays writer Tyrone Green in this sketch about jailbird authors. His “Kill My Landlord” poem is the best.

Coneheads Family Feud (january 21, 1979)

Bill Murray’s sleazy game-show host gives an inappropriate kiss to Laraine Newman’s Conehead daughter.

The French Chef (december 9, 1978)

Dan Aykroyd’s hilarious appearance as Julia Child will sear knife safety forever into your brain.

Baba Wawa At Home (january 15, 1977)

A few cast members took on impersonating Barbara Walters, but no one nailed it (or made us laugh) quite like Gilda Radner.
