In my experience, working from home over the past seven-plus months has been a mixed bag. I love the zero-minute commute and the flexibility of being able to work from my couch, but I miss my coworkers and having a clear separation between my home and my office. I also hate virtual meetings—that is, until I discovered this mini ring light from a brand called Meifigno.

Though it's technically made for phone cameras, I've been using it on my laptop for every meeting I've had for the past few months. It's basically a really small ring light that clamps over your computer's (or phone's) camera. It has a little silicone tab, so it won't scratch your screen. Basically, it just blasts your face with light so you look way more alive on video calls—even if you aren't wearing makeup and you'd rather quit your job than turn your camera on.

There are three levels of brightness to choose from, and the light is rechargeable via a USB plug-in, so there's no need to search through your drawers for batteries.

At just $13, it's far and away my most successful Amazon purchase during these very weird COVID times. None of my colleagues have to know how lazy I've gotten with my makeup routine.
