This year, the “Cruel Summer” singer’s record-breaking concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, was nominated for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. Meanwhile, Gomez was one of the contenders for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical.

In a photo snapped at the event, the two friends were seen whispering to each other with shocked facial expressions. What they were talking about? The internet has been in an absolute tizzy trying to figure it out.

Well Gomez finally set the record straight. In response to conjecture the convo was about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, Gomez wrote on Instagram, "Noooooo, I told Taylor about my two friends who hooked up. Not that that's anyone's business." Phew. At least we have answers.

For the ceremony, Swift donned a gorgeous green dress designed by Gucci. The floor-length gown featured thin spaghetti straps with a low-cut neckline. In contrast, Gomez wore a red, asymmetrical Giorgio Armani dress. At one point, the Only Murders in the Building star recreated Marilyn Monroe’s iconic flying skirt moment.
