Witherspoon captioned the post, “Bringing it back to the ’90s! Meet Mia Warren and Elena Richardson. So excited to be shooting @LittleFiresHulu with the incredibly talented @kerrywashington!”
Little Fires Everywhere is a critically acclaimed novel that is currently being adapted into a limited series by Hulu, similar to HBO’s Big Little Lies. It centers on the chaos that erupts when a single mother, Mia Warren (Witherspoon), and her daughter move to an affluent Ohio city, where they meet Elena Richardson (Washington) and her seemingly picture-perfect family.
Things take a mysterious turn when a few acts of arson are committed around town. Even the Richardson home gets torched. The worst part? All signs point to Elena’s daughter, Izzy, as the guilty party.
Witherspoon will executive produce the series along with Washington. Liz Tigelaar (Casual) will pen the script and serve as showrunner. In addition to Witherspoon and Washington, Little Fires Everywhere will also star Rosemarie DeWitt, Jordan Elsass, Joshua Jackson, Gavin Lewis, Jade Pettyjohn, Megan Stott and Lexi Underwood.
Talk about a dynamic duo. Little Fires Everywhere is expected to hit Hulu sometime in 2020.
