Queen Camilla has paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth on multiple occasions, like when she wore the monarch’s jewelry or when she rocked a tiara that hasn’t been seen in over a decade. However, her latest homage might be my favorite to date.
Queen Camilla Dazzles at State Dinner (& I Noticed Something Special About Her Eye-Popping Jewelry)
I knew it looked familiar
Last night, Queen Camilla attended a state banquet at Buckingham Palace to welcome Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani (the Amir of the State of Qatar) and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani. Not only did the queen copy Kate Middleton by sporting the “it” color of 2024, but she also wore not one, but two pieces from Queen Elizabeth’s jewelry collection.
Let’s start with the headpiece, which is widely known as the diamond Kokoshnik tiara (according to Hello! magazine). Similar to the aquamarine headpiece she wore while hosting a diplomatic reception, this stunner hasn’t been seen in over a decade.
It previously belonged to Queen Elizabeth, but it was originally given to Queen Alexandra as a 25th wedding anniversary gift in 1888. It was later passed down to Queen Mary, who eventually gave it to Queen Elizabeth.
Same goes for the diamond necklace, which (I must admit) perfectly complements the elegant tiara. As People points out, the accessory also belonged to the late monarch. Queen Camilla completed the look with diamond drop earrings that added even more sparkle.
Earlier this week, Queen Camilla attended a special lunch at Buckingham Palace and explained why she was absent from the first part of the state visit. According to Hello! magazine, the royal revealed that her chest infection was a form of pneumonia, and she’s now experiencing extreme fatigue.
Welcome back, Queen Camilla.
