Queen Camilla is back in action. The royal shared an update on her health after being sidelined by a chest infection that led her to step back from her royal duties for a bit. The 77-year-old monarch, who’s been recovering from the illness, offered a positive update while attending a reception for The Booker Prize Foundation at Clarence House on Tuesday, November 12.

“I’m obviously getting much better, bit of sort of coughing going on,” Camilla said in a video clip shared on X by Daily Mail Royal Editor Rebecca English.

In another clip, Camilla revealed how much she’d been looking forward to attending the event despite being under the weather last week. "I really wanted to come," she said. "I’m on the mend, these things always take a bit of time to get rid of.” She even joked, “You think you got rid of it, they just sort of hang on for a bit.”

This health update follows Buckingham palace’s announcement on November 9 that Camilla would not be attending the Remembrance events over the weekend due to the chest infection. She had planned to join King Charles, Prince William, Princess Catherine and others at the Royal Albert Hall for the Festival of Remembrance, but instead opted for rest at home to recover.

Buckingham Palace issued a statement saying that, following her doctor’s advice, the Queen was prioritizing her recovery to ensure a full healing process and to avoid spreading any illness to others.

"While this is a source of great disappointment to The Queen, she will mark the occasion privately at home and hopes to return to public duties early next week," the palace added.

While Camilla took some much needed time to rest, the weekend also marked one of the first major public appearances for Princess Catherine since finishing chemotherapy in September.

Glad to see Queen Camilla on the mend.
