Hint: It wasn't Kate

Fresh off the 80th anniversary of D-Day celebrations in France, Prince William was back in England this morning—Chester to be exact—to be by the side of his friend the Duke of Westminster as he wed Olivia Henson at what is being dubbed the royal-adjacent wedding of the year.

How come? Well, the Duke—Hugh Grosvenor—is the richest person in the U.K. under the age of 40. In fact, he inherited his fortune at the age of 25, when his father unexpectedly passed away, making Hugh the 7th Duke of Westminster and placing him at the helm of the historic Grosvenor Estate.

Hugh also happens to be in the rare position of being quite close with both Princes William and Harry. He’s godfather to Prince George and Prince Archie—though Harry opted not to attend today’s occasion, likely due to family dynamics with his brother and not wanting that to overshadow the big day. King Charles is also Hugh’s godfather.

Crowds lined the streets in Chester; the bride wore a tiara; Prince William was an usher—it had all the makings of a royal affair. Even the guest list was punctuated with royals: Princess Eugenie was spotted arriving at the nuptials and headed to the reception, too.

As for William, he looked relaxed and happy as he mingled with guests outside Chester Cathedral. (Typically, his wife Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, would have been by his side, but she is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.)

A happier occasion in the midst of a difficult year for the royal family? We’d say so.
