He isn't afraid of friendly competition

Prince William has shown off his athletic side on multiple occasions. Remember when he engaged in one of Kate Middleton’s favorite sports? Or when he played the role of quarterback during a game of flag football? Well, the Prince of Wales, 42, is adding boxing to his sports resume.

Today, Prince William headed to west London to visit a charity called Centrepoint. After receiving a tour of the facility (more on this later), the royal showed off his athletic skills by participating in a sparring lesson.

Prince William put on a pair of boxing gloves and performed a few moves with guidance from an instructor. I immediately noticed that the royal’s footwear choice seemed much more casual than his go-to dress shoes.

Perhaps Prince William knew that he was going to engage in activities and, therefore, opted for a comfortable pair of shoes that are ideal for movement. That said, they weren’t exactly athletic sneakers, but I’ll take what I can get from the man who is most commonly spotted in formalwear.

After the boxing lesson, the Prince of Wales headed inside and played a round of table football (aka foosball). The royal was seen spinning the rods as he participated in a friendly competition with Centrepoint members.

The charity has multiple locations throughout the London area, but Prince William paid a visit to the Ealing hub. The center houses more than a dozen youths aged 16 to 25 who are experiencing homelessness. The facility not only offers counseling, but it also provides the youths with resources to better their lives (including employment and education).

Prince William has been a royal patron of Centrepoint for nearly 20 years, and he’s following in the footsteps of his late mother, Princess Diana, who also held the same position.
