Alert the royal presses, because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just made a rare public appearance.
Today, the Duke, 39, and Duchess of Sussex, 42, stepped out in New York City. Their first stop included a visit to The Marcy Lab School to chat with the founders and learn more about their tuition-free program. (See the photos here.)
Markle wore a letterman jacket that holds a special meaning. She received it as a gift back in 2022 when she visited Robert Clack School ahead of International Women’s Day. It was given to her by the debate squad on her last solo engagement as a senior royal.
The couple’s New York trip shouldn’t come as a huge surprise since they’re also hosting an event, The Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit: Mental Wellness in a Digital Age, later in the day. Their morning outing was related to the summit because The Archewell Foundation gave a grant to The Marcy Lab School earlier this year.
The Archewell Foundation Parents’ Summit: Mental Wellness in a Digital Age will mark a huge milestone for Prince Harry and Markle’s non-profit organization (founded in October 2020) because it’s the first in-person event hosted by the Archewell Foundation.
It’s also the first time the couple has returned to New York City since they were involved in a “near-devastating car chase” involving paparazzi back in May. At the time, they were in NYC for the 2023 Ms. Foundation Women of Vision Awards and accompanied by Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland.
