Happy Birthday, Prince Archie! Harry and Meghan’s Son Celebrates Birthday Back Home During Coronation of King Charles III

Happy happy birthday, Prince Archie!

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor (AKA Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan Markle's, 41, eldest child) just turned 4 years old today, and this year, his birthday is shared with another major event in the royal family: the coronation of King Charles III.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex kept the details of Archie's bday celebration relatively hush hush, The Telegraph reveals there was a party involving a homemade lemon cake, ethically sourced party bags and more.

When the coronation date was revealed back in October, royal followers immediately recognized the significance of the choice. And not only is today Prince Archie's fourth birthday, but it is also the wedding anniversary of Queen Consort Camilla's daughter, Laura, and the wedding anniversary of the late Princess Margaret.

While it has not been overtly stated, perhaps the new king chose the date as a way to partially honor his grandson. Last year, on Prince Archie's third birthday, King Charles shared a rare photo that was snapped during the child's christening.

Prior to the coronation, it was confirmed that Prince Harry would attend the ceremony solo and the Duchess of Sussex would stay home in California with their two kids—Archie and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, 1.

A close source told People magazine that Archie would be having “a low-key party at home.” They added, “They'll have friends around them and Meghan's mom, Doria [Ragland]. Meghan will definitely have support that weekend.”

We hope this is the best year yet, Archie.
