If you’re still undecided on what your kids should wear for Halloween, you should know there’s never been a better time to take a walk down memory lane.

The Ellie Sparkles Show recently conducted a study to determine which kids’ costumes are the most popular for 2022. The YouTube series analyzed Google search data and ranked the themes based on the average annual search volume in the U.S.

While the list contains classic choices—like witch, dinosaur and ghost—it also features a few throwback options—like Harley Quinn, Venom, Michael Myers and Spider-Man. While Wednesday Addams is tied for third place with Venom, it doesn’t technically count as a throwback costume because Netflix is releasing a spin-off series, Wednesday, on November 23.

Here’s a glimpse of the full list, along with the average annual search volume:

  1. Witch (22,200)
  2. Harley Quinn (21,800)
  3. Venom (21,120)
  4. Wednesday Addams (21,120)
  5. Dinosaur (18,000)
  6. Ghost (14,400)
  7. Michael Myers (14,100)
  8. Chucky (12,800)
  9. Pirate (11,800)
  10. Spider-Man (11,600)

The best part? Several of the costumes can be recreated with minimal items. For Harley Quinn, you can pair a Harley Quinn wig ($50) with a bomber jacket ($46). And for Michael Myers, all you need is a mask ($15) and coveralls (from $39).

We’ve never been more thankful for Amazon Prime.
