We know, we know: We're going to cry like Phil Dunphy when the final Modern Family episode airs this fall.
After renewing the beloved show for an 11th season back in February, ABC announced that it would be the last one. The 11th season will premiere on September 25, 2019. In honor of the show, Sofia Vergara posted a throwback photo from their very first table read, which happened 10 years ago. (Yep, an entire decade has gone by before our very eyes...)
The side-by-side of the two photos is astounding, mainly because of the changes in the kids' characters as they aged throughout the show's production. We mean, can you believe how grown-up Luke and Manny are?!
Besides Vergara, who plays the fiery and protective mother Gloria on the show, there's Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen, Ed O’Neill, Sarah Hyland, Rico Rodriguez, Ariel Winter and Nolan Gould.
The only new addition to the original photo is "baby" Lily, aka 12-year-old Aubrey Anderson-Emmons.
Vergara captioned it, "10 years later!! Modern Family!!! #ourlastseason" with a bunch of heart emojis.
Show co-creator Steve Levitan also posted the photo collage, and wrote, “Ten years ago we took the first cast photo outside of our first #modernfamily table read. Today the ending begins.”
Oh, and it also happened to be the birthday of Rodriguez, who stars as Gloria's son Manny. He turned 21.
Yep, let that sink in for a second...
