Carrie Preston’s Real-Life Husband Michael Emerson Is Joining the ‘Elsbeth’ Cast

CBS just announced that Emerson is joining the cast of Elsbeth season two, where he will star alongside his wife (who plays the titular character). According to Entertainment Weekly, the Lost alum, 70, will portray Judge Milton Crawford on the popular series, and his character will be introduced in the episode on December 12. 

Emerson has been married to Preston since 1998. Although he’s known as the actress’s other half, he also has an impressive resume of his own. His TV credits include Lost, The Practice, Evil, Person of Interest and Arrow, in addition to movie roles (like Saw).

Elsbeth is a spin-off of The Good Wife and The Good Fight, and it’s like a cross between Suits and Law & Order. The series follows attorney Elsbeth Tascioni as she leaves Chicago to pursue a new investigative career in New York. She works alongside the NYPD to find and prosecute criminals.

Additional cast members include Wendell Pierce, Carra Patterson, Jane Krakowski, Molly Price, Gloria Reuben, Linda Lavin and Stephen Moyer. 

Preston’s character was first introduced on The Good Wife, which starred Julianna Margulies and ran from 2010 to 2016. Elsbeth returned in the second spin-off, titled The Good Fight, starring Christine Baranski. The latter wrapped in 2022, and it set the stage for Elsbeth to have her very own show.
