Royal Baby Alert! King Charles's Cousin Is Pregnant with Her Second Child

Alert the guards, because another royal baby is coming our way. 

Lady Tatiana Mountbatten (King Charles’s distant cousin) recently announced that she and her husband, Alexander “Alick” Dru, are expecting their second child. The 34-year-old royal announced the news on Instagram by sharing a slideshow of photos featuring her growing baby bump. 

“A private preview of m̶y̶ ̶g̶r̶o̶w̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶b̶u̶m̶p̶ @maxmara exquisite new collection,” the caption read. “Thank you for inviting me [heart emoji] extra special thank yous to @laurence_coste for the spooky jewellery.”

Lady Tatiana is the daughter of George Mountbatten (aka the Marquess of Milford Haven) and his wife, Sarah. Tatiana’s relation to King Charles is quite complicated, so let’s dive in. Her dad, George, was the brother of Prince Philip’s mother, Princess Alice. Therefore, George is King Charles’s great-uncle. That would make Tatiana a second cousin (once removed) to the current monarch. 

Lady Tatiana and her husband, Alick, went public with their relationship in 2022 shortly after he popped the question during a romantic ski trip in Verbier. Six months later, the couple tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony at Winchester Cathedral. 

In September 2023, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Elodie, and announced the exciting news on Instagram. “One month of motherhood [heart emoji] …and what a month it’s been!” the caption read. “Elodie arrived on 20th September [heart emoji] it’s already going far too quickly.”
