In honor of her dad’s birthday, actress Kerry Washington, 46, shared a special video tribute on social media, where they both recreated a fun TikTok trend. While watching the vid, we couldn’t stop thinking about the striking resemblance between the father-daughter duo.
The video starts with the Scandal actress and her father (aka the King of Dad Jokes) sitting down at a wooden table. The pair knocks on the table, and the popular TikTok sound, “Hey Everyone, It’s My Birthday,” comes on.
Then, her dad repeats the words in the song, and in a matter of seconds, they happily dance along to the beat. The dynamic duo practically looked like twins (with their bright smiles and round eyes) as they showed off their goofy moves.
“Knock, knock, it’s the KING of Dads,” Washington wrote in the caption, “The Emperor of Dad Jokes, the Duke of Earl himself! Happy Birthday Dad!!!!! I love you sooooooo much.”
Her followers flooded the comments section with happy birthday messages. One person wrote, “Omgggggg happy birthday Earl!!!!!” Even her former Little Fires Everywhere co-star Reese Witherspoon had to take a moment to send her bday wishes, writing, “Happy Birthday to my fav co-star, EARL!”
The School for Good and Evil alum makes it a point to dedicate a special bday tribute to her dad every year on social media. This time last year, Washington posted a reel vid of the two of them together on IG, where they both sported matching denim jeans.
In the short clip, Earl enters the “Dad Jokes” vault and pitches one of his best lines: “How does a pair of jeans cool themselves off?” he asks. “They pant!” (OK, that one got us.)
