Kelly Ripa Pokes Fun at Her Slim Christmas Tree: 'Even the Trees Are Skinny This Year'

Last year, Kelly Ripa's towering Christmas tree was dressed to impress, complete with vibrant ornaments, family photos and festive lights. This year, however, Ripa's Christmas tree is looking a little different. (Or shall I say, slimmer?)

On Instagram, the Live with Kelly and Mark co-host, 54, gave fans a glimpse of her gorgeous Christmas tree, which is noticeably slimmer compared to the one she had in 2023. In the caption, she wrote, "Behold the lady [tree], even the trees are skinny this year. #Treezempic?"

On yesterday's episode of her morning talk show, Ripa detailed a funny story about the tree and revealed that she had a Clark Griswold moment when she realized the tree was too large. Ripa said, "The Christmas tree is a big deal for me every year. It’s what I look forward to. And when the tree arrived, and they cut it open, it was like a scene out of [National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation]. The entire tree...it was like a bloomin' onion.”

She added, "It was three feet taller than our room. It was the width of the room, so the entire room became the tree."

Ripa explained that there was no way to trim it down, and so she opted for a much slimmer version of the grand tree. She continued, “We got what I like to call Treezempic, or Pinejaro. She’s skinny, don't skinny-shame her. She's sensitive about it. She's been exercising every day. She's beautiful. But when I tell you, hanging ornaments on this tree…even the lightest ornament and the branches are like, ‘I can’t.’”

Because of this, the co-host had to place most of the ornaments inside the tree, but according to her co-host and husband, Mark Consuelos, it's still a win-win, because the tree still looks quite stunning and, even better, there's more room for the family to lounge.

Consuelos said, "I think it's great. I think that's the proper width. You can still sit in the room."
