Kate Middleton and Prince William Escort George, Charlotte and Louis to School in New Pics—and the Kids Are Getting So Big

Royal fans received quite the surprise yesterday when Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis showed up to their new school a full day early—with a photographer in tow.

Let's rewind for a second. After Kate Middleton and Prince William moved their family of five out of London in recent months, relocating to Windsor, there was one exciting side effect: their kids would get to attend a brand-new school. Following years of George, 9, and Charlotte, 7, attending Thomas's Battersea School, they are now starting (along with younger sibling Louis, 4) at Lambrook School.

As most parents are well aware, the start of school has finally arrived, even for the Cambridges. But rather than show up on the first day with hordes of cameras—and likely questions/stress from their own kids—the duke and duchess decided to visit Lambrook a day before the first day of classes to help George, Char and Louis get acclimated. And what would be a pre-school year visit without some photos of the big event?

In the pics, brothers George and Louis look nearly identical in their matching uniforms. Charlotte dons her uniform dress as well and has her hair up in pigtails. The Duke of Cambridge dons a suit with a casual open collar. And, most importantly, the Duchess of Cambridge impresses in a beautiful brown polka-dot dress with matching brown pumps.

The parents held hands with the royal siblings and the full family was all smiles for the event.

In a previous statement released by Kensington Palace, the royal couple announced the switch in schools, saying, “Their Royal Highnesses are hugely grateful to Thomas's Battersea where George and Charlotte have had a happy start to their education since 2017 and 2019 respectively, and are pleased to have found a school for all three of their children which shares a similar ethos and values.”

The Headmaster at Lambrook School, Jonathan Perry, released a separate statement that welcomed the young royals to the new school, writing: "We are delighted that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will be joining us this coming September and very much look forward to welcoming the family, as well as all of our new pupils, to our school community.”

George, Charlotte and Louis are not expected to use their royal titles while at Lambrook (a continuation from Thomas's Battersea). According to a report by The Daily Express, the royal trio will go by their first name and the title Cambridge (so instead it’ll be George Cambridge, Charlotte Cambridge and Louis Cambridge).

Wishing the Cambridge kids a fabulous first day of school today (and here's hoping for more pics).
