Kate Middleton not only has secret singing skills, but it turns out she's quite the impressive pianist too. During the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest finale, the Princess of Wales surprised viewers with a video of herself playing the keys (quite adeptly, we might add).

The performance was posted to the princess's official Instagram account, with a caption that read, “A #Eurovision surprise [keyboard emoji]. A pleasure to join @kalush.official in a special performance of last year’s winning @eurovision entry. Enjoy the show, Liverpool [disco ball emoji].”

At the 2022 contest, the winning song was “Stefania” by the Ukrainian folk-rap group Kalush Orchestra. In the clip, we see the Princess of Wales playing the melody of the song on the piano, while a backing track supports her.

In the comments, fans showed their complete excitement. One user wrote, “What an awesome surprise. I spat all my tea out.” Another commented, “Just when I thought she couldn’t be more perfect.” The princess even got a shoutout from This Morning co-presenter Holly Willoughby, who wrote, “Well this is incredible.”

This year, the Eurovision Song Contest was held in Liverpool in the United Kingdom. Traditionally, the winner of the previous contest hosts the ceremony the following year, but Ukraine was unable to host due to security concerns caused by the Russian invasion of the country. Thus, Princess Catherine paid tribute to the nation.

At the 2023 competition, the winner was Swedish singer Loreen with her track “Tattoo.” The track was written by her, Jimmy "Joker" Thörnfeldt, Jimmy Jansson, Moa Carlebecker, Peter Boström and Thomas G:son. Loreen previously won the competition in 2012, and this win made her only the second performer and the first female artist to ever win the contest twice.

We totally loved this surprise, Kate.
