Jennifer Coolidge Refused to Leave the Emmys Stage as They Played Her Off—She Started a Dance Party Instead

There were a number of iconic moments at the 74th Emmy Awards, but perhaps one of the best was when Jennifer Coolidge was awarded the prize for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her work in The White Lotus.

The category was stacked with White Lotus actresses, with Coolidge nominated alongside co-stars Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, Natasha Rothwell and Sydney Sweeney. Meanwhile, Dopesick stars Kaitlyn Dever and Mare Winningham were also given nods.

However, Coolidge ended up taking home the award, and she looked elated as she walked up to the stage. She also offered no shortage of jokes during her speech, saying, “I just want to say that I took a lavender bath tonight...right before the show...and it made me swell up inside my dress and I'm having a hard time speaking.”

However, while Coolidge took the time to recognize her fellow nominees, as well as other people in the industry that she's worked closely with, her speech was eventually cut short by the playoff music.

“Wait hold on,” she said as the music started playing. “No—this is a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I'm full, I'm full.”

As the White Lotus actress continued to thank people, the music switched to a more lively number, and so Coolidge started dancing along with it. And as she did, the crowd started cheering and applauding, including her fellow nominees, like Britton and Dever.

We loved seeing Jennifer take that moment in stride. A well-deserved win!
