I knew I hit adulthood when a Dyson cordless vacuum topped my holiday wish list. The promise of a dog-hair-free apartment was enough to make me nix some suede Stuart Weitzman boots in favor of a high-tech cleaning product. So, when I opened the Dyson box on Christmas morning, I immediately charged it up and tested it out and—plot twist—it was a major let-down. Why was there still dog hair embedded into my carpet? And did I really have to hold down the trigger for the entire 20 minutes used it? I continued to ask these questions for the next few years, because my vacuum was pretty expensive, and I simply couldn’t bear the thought of throwing it out.

But my luck changed when I scored a Tineco PURE ONE S11 Cordless Vacuum. It’s just as sleek as my Dyson but it comes in a white and ice blue color scheme, making it much easier on the eyes (especially when it’s on display on my kitchen wall). Aside from how pretty it is, the next thing I noticed was the five useful attachments it comes with. The main multipurpose floor attachment, for everything from rugs to hardwood floors, is hands down my favorite one for obvious reasons. It sits on two rolling wheels that glide easily over any surface without scratching it, has amazing suction and, get this, it even has an LED light on the front. That way I can actually see lint, dust and dog hair under dark couches and beds, so I never miss a speck. The vacuum also comes with a mini power brush (for squeezing into small spaces or for use as a handheld), a crevice tool and a two-in-one dusting brush. Plus, there’s an innovative pre-filter cleaning tool, which lifts dust from the filter, an additional microfiber pre-filter so you don’t have to worry about buying a replacement for a while and a tiny hair cleaning tool, that easily remove any strands caught around the filter.

Then there’s the dustbin. It’s totally clear, so I can actually see when it’s nearing capacity. To empty it, all I do is position it over the trash can and press a little button on the front to release. Oh, and remember my gripe with Dyson’s annoying trigger button? Well, the Tineco model has a little switch that completely frees your finger from trigger duty. It sounds trivial, but it really makes a difference on those days when you’re determined to deep clean from attic to basement.

The Tineco PURE ONE S11 also has a feature my Dyson can’t compete with: an all-in-one LED display that warns me about loss of suction, dust amount, malfunction alerts and Wifi connection status. Yes, really. It connects to Wifi for easy integration with the Tineco app, which features real-time performance monitoring, cleaning reports, maintenance reminders, tech support, troubleshooting, and so on. I didn’t think I would really use this feature, but who has ever, in the history of time, remembered when their vacuum needs maintenance or a new filter? Exactly.

And even with all of these super high-tech features, the battery life on my Tineco beats out my Dyson by a landslide. I can use the Tineco for up to a continuous 60 minutes, while my Dyson lasted maybe 20 minutes, if that. There’s also a handy battery light that lets me know when it needs more juice, so I’m never stuck with a half-vacuumed home before it needs recharging. Need we say more?

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better than this, Tineco proved us wrong by releasing a newer version of their beloved cordless vacuum. So naturally, we just had to get our hands on the new gadget and try it out for ourselves.

On a new episode of Testing TikTok, PureWow content creator Kate Kesselman tested the viral Tineco Floor ONE S3 Cordless Vaccum ($400) and compared the results to her trusty Swiffer mop ($30).

In the video (see above), Kate couldn’t get over how easy it was to use the Tineco vacuum during the clean test. “It’s super easy to use considering it’s wireless,” she said in the vid.
