PSA: Today Is Free Cone Day at Dairy Queen—Here's How to Snag One

March 20 marks the first day of spring, but more importantly, it's your chance to snag a free ice cream cone at Dairy Queen. Yes, that's right—the burgers-and-Blizzards chain has brought back its annual Free Cone Day, offering free small ice cream cones to all at participating locations, all day long.

All you have to do is head to the DQ nearest you and ask for a Free Cone Day cone. You don't even need to order anything else, if you're visiting a non-mall location in the U.S. that's participating in the event. (Mall stores may require you to buy something to score the free cone, per the company's press release.)

The deal isn't valid on delivery or mobile orders, so you'll have to walk inside a store and request one the old-fashioned way. But it's worth it for the creamy, vanilla soft serve and reminder that brighter days are ahead, am I right? You can also pay $1 to have your cone dipped, and the proceeds will benefit your local Children's Miracle Network hospital.)

If you're headed to Dairy Queen and want to make it an event—round up the office and take a field trip for lunch (it's called team building, boss!)! Skip making dinner and take the kids! Treat yourself because it's Friday Junior and you deserve nice things! Whatever the reason, you can round things out with some of our favorite dishes (and menu hacks), since I hear one can't survive on ice cream alone:
