In case you hadn’t heard, Abercrombie & Fitch has reinvented its brand, and I've been obsessed for the past few years. Far from the days of moose logos and exclusionary sizing, the brand now sells trendy pieces like wide-leg trousers and gauze tops, as well as staple pieces like blazers and jeans.

Ever since Abercrombie & Fitch overhauled its identity a few years ago, the designs have veered into two realms: 1. staples that can stay in your closet long-term, and 2. trend-inspired pieces that feel of-the-moment, but not straight-up runway copies, which is refreshing. If you’re looking for other stores like Abercrombie & Fitch, I have you covered. These 14 brands encompass similar styles and price points, ideal for every kind of shopper.

How I Chose the Best Stores Like Abercrombie & Fitch

When it came to finding stores that balance classics and trends as well as Abercrombie & Fitch does, I considered shops with great reputations that have a similar range of styles with moderate pricing. I also made sure to keep brands in mind with a variety of merchandise aside from strictly women's clothing, since A&F features activewear, men's and kid's clothes, too.

Best Loungewear

1. Aritzia

Aritzia

Chock-full of trends and capsule, staple pieces, Aritzia has so many styles to fit different tastes. The millennials and Gen Z-beloved brand is known for in-house labels like Babaton and Golden. Whether you're looking for activewear, loungewear or a new blazer for work, Aritzia has lots to offer, among other things. I'm personally in love with the Babaton Insight Tank ($35) for a spring and summer basic I can wear with anything. The material is very soft yet still creates a little structure. Plus, it doesn't look cheap.

Best Minimalist Fashion

2. Everlane

Everlane

If you head to Everlane's best sellers page, you'll notice that most items are very minimalist, with a splash of color and pattern here and there. The brand is best known for its sleek, simple fashion that can be easily worn as stylish workwear. From shoes to blazers to trousers, Everlane is a minimalist's dream, especially if you like organic materials, too.

3. Aerie

Aerie

Aerie is a fan-favorite for undergarments and swimwear. The brand offers a versatile assortment of one-pieces and individual tops and bottoms for different body types. While the price range of Aerie is pretty reasonable to begin with, like Abercrombie, there are frequent sales on the website so you can save on bestselling pieces. I'm in love with this Shine Ribbed One-Piece (was $60, now $42) for summertime.

Best Upscale Casual

4. Banana Republic

Banana Republic

The upscale casual styles at Banana Republic are fantastic for a variety of occasions. I've gotten professional pieces here like blazers, button downs and even a New Year's Eve dress one year. There is definitely a clean, preppy tone to Banana's clothing, but the pieces still manage to be versatile, which is why it's one of my favorite brands.

5. Old Navy

Old Navy

The affordability of Old Navy's clothes is hard to beat. While the low-to-moderate prices are already easy on the bank account, there are also tons of sales. Plus, you can earn Old Navy Super Cash that go toward your next purchase. One of my favorite things about the brand is they bring back most-loved styles from the previous year, like the Linen-Blend Boyfriend Shirts ($40) (which I now own three of). Not only can you find great women's clothes like swimwear, activewear, casual pieces, shoes and more, you can also shop kids', maternity and and men's, too.

6. Madewell

Madewell

From jeans to bags to sweaters and more, Madewell has tons of chic styles to build your wardrobe. The new arrivals section is full of trendy additions to keep your looks current, while the denim section is a timeless go-to for long-lasting, stylish jeans. Like Abercrombie & Fitch, you can shop curvy and regular denim short and jeans designs for the perfect fit based on your shape. The website is easy to navigate and you can even shop by clothing edits like all white outfits or all denim.

7. Urban Outfitters

Urban Outfitters

We shop at Urban Outfitters for cool pieces that would make Gen Z proud. Aside from the brand’s own in-house line, it features other popular brands like BDG, UGG, Champion, Vans, New Balance and more. The young and sometimes vintage styles found at Urban Outfitters make it a fun spot to shop when you're looking for something youthful for yourself or to grab a gift for your teen daughter or niece. We especially appreciate Urban’s fashionable, on-model product shots, which have given us styling inspo on way more than one occasion. You can even shop beauty, accessories and home trinkets, too.

8. H&M

H&M

H&M’s offerings range from staple items to totally eccentric, all at fairly reasonable prices. Browse the site by trend, like spring styles or city chic, or search by product type, like blazers and basics, if you know exactly what you want. When it comes to adding items to my capsule wardrobe, H&M is a go-to. We may focus our sights on the women's section, but you can also shop men's, home, kid's and beauty, too.

Preppiest Picks

9. J.Crew

J.Crew

While we still see a ton of preppy pieces at J.Crew, the brand has also extended its selection to include current, trending styles. If you love the dark academia vibe or are looking to build a capsule wardrobe with high-quality staples, you’re going to love shopping J.Crew’s clothes. One of the best things to shop at J.Crew aside from the tailored blazers and trousers? The swimwear, especially if you're in the market for a suit on the non-cheeky side. You can search the site by checking out the different edits like the linen shop, wear-to-work, best-dressed guest and more, to help narrow down your search.

10. Alex Crane

Alex Crane

They are working toward limiting the amount of plastic used in the fashion industry to make clothes and opt for eco-friendly materials. Best Mini Dresses

11. Hollister

Hollister

Are you feeling the nostalgia like we are? Who would’ve thought we would be shopping our favorite middle school brands in 2024? Like Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister rebranded its clothing to align more with current trends at a more adult level. From mini and midi dresses to denim to skirts and T-shirts, too. Trust me and give it another shot.

12. Gap

Gap

From breathable linen to peppy spring trends, this perennial staple has amped up its chicness factor in the past few years. We especially recommend the Gap if you’re building—or refreshing—a new wardrobe so you can get high-quality pieces that won't cost you an entire paycheck. A classic brand that's been around for decades, Gap's well-known logo is very recognizable and beloved among many, whether you're sporting a new hoodie or your mom's vintage T-shirt from the '90s.

Best Size Range

13. ASOS

ASOS

ASOS does a phenomenal job at separating clothing by theme, making it easy to shop for exactly what you’re looking for. You can also search in the plus-size section for more than 1,300 styles instead of just a few here and there on some retailer's sites. This fun, youthful retailer carries its own in-house line as well as brands like Nike and Topshop here, too.

Best Wedding Guest Dresses

14. ASTR The Label

ASTR the Label

When shopping at ASTR the Label, expect some super feminine options. Sure, there are tons of sweet styles of tops, skirts, shorts and more, but the biggest appeal of this brand is the wedding guest dress picks. From ruffles to floral prints and lots of fitted and short silhouettes, this is a great spring and summer shop. I've purchased several dresses from the brand and while they're absolutely stunning and high-quality, they fit a smidge on the tighter side, so make sure you consult the size chart and maybe even size up.
