Birkenstock has long been a favorite brand for supportive footwear, especially for outdoor enthusiasts, so investing in a shearling-lined classic Arizona sandal is a total no-brainer in our opinion.

The brand describes these as a “sneaker mule,” mostly because of the super-supportive, shock-absorbing cork sole. (Although we don’t actually suggest swapping out your go-to sneaks for these slippers.) The wool upper is also odor-resistant and will continue to keep your feet warm even if they get wet.

Another slipper designed for backpacking, these puffer slip-ons are incredibly lightweight and are lined with a plush fleece for extra comfort. They’re also water resistant so you can wear them in just about any kind of weather.

These come recommended by a particularly picky PureWow editor. “I have very specific expectations for a house shoe—they must be supportive, but also have slight bounce and supremely squishy-ness.
