I consider myself somewhat of a utilitarian dresser: I always have a tote bag within reach, I make sure to have an extra layer on hand and when it comes to pants, the more pockets, the better. But while I may be a fan of function, I'll acknowledge that most people aren't associating cargo pants with the word "chic." Katie Holmes, however, may have just proved the masses wrong.

On March 10, the Alone Together actress attended the Zimmermann FW25 Paris Fashion Week show in the sleekest pair of off-white satin cargo pants. Though the bottoms typically scream casual, Holmes styled her dressy pair with a matching oversized off-white peacoat, a brown V-neck tank top, a slouchy brown handbag, sandals and a pair of statement earrings. Yep, Holmes just showed us all how to turn a silhouette associated with teen boys and construction workers into something chic, comfortable and totally Fashion Week-ready.

Want to embrace the posh-yet-practical pant this season? I scoured the web and tracked down some of the most Holmes-worthy pairs of satin cargo pants to shop now, including this $40 steal from Chico's. Read ahead to shop the silky spring styles—and you'll never want for pockets again.

Did someone say '90s Ralph Lauren-core? If you're going to wear cargo pants to the office, let it be this pair. The more structured fit and mid-rise waist (complete with belt loops) are features that lend themselves well to a professional environment. Between those traditional side pockets, flap cargo details and elegant wide-leg cut, what's not to love?

Currently available in regular and tall lengths, this wide-leg pair of cream-colored cargo pants give Holmes's a run for their money. With an incredibly similar silhouette, the pants are crafted with a smooth and shiny polyester satin, a relaxed fly front and two large side pockets (plus two cargo pockets on each leg). Even better? They're currently $100 off, and you just can't beat that.

Made for all occasions, whether that be lounging on the couch or heading out for drinks, these satin cargo joggers are crafted to be an easy pull-on style with a paper bag waist and drawstring ties. It's fitted at the ankle to achieve a sportier look, and comes complete with all the front, back and side leg pockets you'd want in a pair of cargos. So go ahead and load 'em up with your card holder, keys and gloss—you can scrap the purse.

Pink satin cargos? Yes, please! Perfect for spring with its fresh blush hue, this style will have you rivaling all the seasonal blooms. With a tapered leg, cinched drawstring cuffs and side cargo pockets, this dreamy satin pair is sporty, stylish and, according to buyers, incredibly flattering and comfortable. Um, score. Dress it up with a pair of pumps or opt for a more casual look with some slide-on sandals or sneakers—either way, you'll be looking pretty (and practical) in pink.
