Navigating daily life with twins can be a logistical nightmare, and a good double stroller can seriously make a world of difference. So it’s no wonder that our tester, Alyce Tassoni, was very excited to try the new side-by-side Nuna trvl™ dubl from the cult-favorite brand, with her 15-month-old twins. Tassoni, no stranger to strollers, has tested other double models including the Mockingbird and the Zoe, and after pushing around the twins in the Nuna model, the mom of three gave us her honest review of the product.

Setting Up & Folding Down

Nuna

From the box to block, setting up of the Nuna trvl dubl is about as easy as it gets, coming together in less than five minutes. “It’s such a simple, intuitive design that I barely needed the instructions,” shares Tassoni. Changing configurations is equally intuitive. “Although my twins are the same age, the option to recline both seats independently allows flexibility in their positions, which I imagine would be especially useful with kids of different ages or needs.” The same goes for folding up the stroller. “Using the latch on the handlebar, it folds compactly enough to fit in the trunk of both my and my husband’s SUVs.” Note: The initial fold can be done one-handed, but completing it does require both hands—a minor inconvenience but not a dealbreaker. While not quite as simple as the Zoe’s one-handed fold, it’s still manageable and easy to stow.

Maneuverability & Performance

The stroller shines in this department. Tassoni expands: “Pushing is smooth and responsive, even with my 15-month-old twins, who together weigh around 45 pounds. Both my husband and I found it incredibly light to push, with little strain on wrists or arms—which can be a real issue with some heavier double strollers.” As for terrain, the Nuna tandem double holds its own. Primarily used on pavement, Tassoni and family also tested it on grass, playground wood chips, and even some hills. Across each, the stroller remained steady and didn’t struggle to keep pace, making it a versatile choice for a variety of outings. The brake system is also easy and convenient, with a flip-flop-friendly lever that can be engaged quickly.

Storage & Accessories

Nuna

What parent of twins isn’t toting around one thousand extra things? For Tassoni, she found the basket spacious enough to accommodate a large baby bag, jackets, water bottles and essentials for the twins and their older sibling. “While the canopies provide decent shade, they don’t extend as far as I’d like. On especially sunny days, I notice the twins still getting some sun in their eyes, an area where the Zoe Double Stroller’s more extended canopy coverage comes in handy.”

Final Thoughts

Nuna

Overall, the Nuna trvl dubl delivers on its promises of easy setup, intuitive use and thoughtful design. It’s lightweight yet sturdy, making it easy to maneuver through single doorways and elevators, both essential when managing twins. While a few minor tweaks could elevate the experience, like the larger canopies, Tassoni found it to be a fantastic choice for parents with twins or multiple young kids who prioritize functionality without sacrificing style.
