(It’s just a stone’s throw from the Croton-Falls station on the Metro North.) Navigating the corn maze isn’t quite as easy, but you can always fall back on the provided map if the many hidden clues you encounter on the winding paths prove too tough to decipher.
The Best Corn Mazes for Kids Near NYC
- Stony Hill Farms in Chester, NJ: Kids will definitely need to stay close to an adult while navigating the massive 10-acre corn maze, but parents will be pleased to know that there’s a mini (and far less intimidating) one available, too. When that challenge is complete kids can avail themselves of the plethora of rides and games on offer.
- Hurds Family Farm in Modena, NY: Pony riding, ziplining, duck racing, plus an obstacle course, playground, bounce pillow and petting zoo are all on offer at this spot…and that’s just a few of the family-friendly attractions. Best of all, the 2-acre corn maze is a more manageable size for the younger members of your brood.
- Fink’s Country Farm in Wading River, NY: Fink’s Country Farm is a veritable amusement park with multiple play areas, unlimited hay rides, slides, pedal carts, tricycles and a massive bounce pillow. There’s also an animatronic chicken show. (To be honest, I have no idea what that is, but it sounds pretty cool.
The Best Corn Mazes Near NYC for Halloween Activities
- Argos Farm in Forked River, NJ: This Jersey Shore spot comes to life at night, thanks to a fantastic, glowing pumpkin trail featuring hundreds of elaborately carved jack-o-lanterns, Day of the Dead light displays and more. There’s also a nighttime flashlight maze, a “spook-easy” and plenty of photo ops where visitors can make Insta-worthy Halloween memories.
- Hank’s Pumpkintown in Watermill, NY: Kid activities and Halloween activities intersect at Hank’s. As the name suggests, this farm has an entire pumpkin town as well as a themed area devoted to Spookly the Square Pumpkin. There’s nothing here that will scare adults, but if you’re visiting with little kids it’s a perfect place to get in the Halloween spirit.
- Stony Hill Farms in Chester, NJ: Yep this one makes both lists—namely because their fall programming includes a flashlight night maze. Given the incredible size of the corn maze, it’s safe to say that an after-hours tour of it could get pretty spooky.
