Netflix's New #3 Movie, ‘The Vault,’ Is a Must-See Heist Flick

If there's one brand of movie we never get tired of, it's heist flicks. Put on one of the classic Ocean's films, or recent hits like American Animals, and we'll be glued to the screen for every minute.

It seems we aren't the only ones who love this genre, because the newest movie to climb up the charts of Netflix is The Vault, a heist drama starring Freddie Highmore (Bates Motel), Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones), Famke Janssen (X-Men) and Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides). The Spanish thriller just moved into the #3 slot on the streaming site's list of top movies, and based on the trailer alone, we know what we'll be watching this weekend.

“I have a job offer,” Cunningham says to Highmore in the clip. “I want you to help me break into the most secure vault in the world.” In response, Highmore just laughs in disbelief...but this offer is no joke.

The Vault follows Highmore as he teams up with a group of crooks in a plan to rob a fortress hidden under the Bank of Spain. This fortress contains a vault with a long-lost treasure sealed inside, and no one in history has ever been able to reach it. And how does this group try to pull off their heist? Under the distraction of the FIFA World Cup.

The newest Netflix hit was directed by Spanish filmmaker Jaume Balagueró, who is famous for developing the popular REC series of horror movies. Meanwhile, part of the production was handled by the movie's lead, Highmore.

All we need is to see the word "heist," and we're on our way to grabbing the popcorn.
