Netflix’s New Reality Show Is Like ‘Botched’…But With Tattoos

If you love transformational reality shows like Botched and Extreme Makeover, then you’re in for a real treat.

Netflix just dropped the first official trailer for its all-new series, Tattoo Redo, which is exactly what it sounds like.

The trailer introduces viewers to various embarrassing tattoos and their not-so-proud owners. These tats are typically a result of drunken bets, regretful decisions and unreliable sources. (Looking at you, Google Translate.) However, that doesn’t mean botched ink can’t be fixed.

“Behind every tragic tattoo, there’s always a ridiculous story,” host Jessimae Peluso says in the clip. “Lucky for them, five of the most talented tattoo artists are standing by to give them a tattoo redo.”

The goal for the artists—Miryam Lumpini, Twig Sparks, Tommy Montoya, Matt Beckerich and Rose Hardy—is pretty simple: cover up old tattoos with new modified ones. The show follows multiple subjects, who were each nominated by someone who can’t stand their current ink. And that’s where the catch comes in.

“But the person that brought them in is going to choose the cover up,” Peluso adds.

Tattoo Redo is set to premiere on July 28 on Netflix. When it does, we wouldn’t be surprised if it lands a spot on the streaming service’s list of most watched shows among the likes of Manifest, Sex/Life, Cocomelon, Too Hot to Handle, Sweet Tooth and The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals.

In the wise words of Peluso, “This might be a disaster.” And yet, we’re totally on board.
