One of Drew Barrymore’s Most Underrated Rom-Coms Is on HBO Max Right This Second

If you can never get enough of Drew Barrymore and her romantic comedies (*ahem* Never Been Kissed stays on repeat), then we have another movie you might want to add to your watch list.

Allow us to introduce you to the highly underrated 2010 rom-com Going the Distance, which is currently available to watch on HBO Max. The movie follows a woman named Erin (Barrymore) and her boyfriend Garrett (Justin Long), who are over the moon in love with each other.

When Erin moves to San Francisco to finish her journalism degree and Garrett stays in New York to pursue a career in music, they try to make their relationship work long distance. However, right when the couple is about to reunite, they both receive the break of a lifetime and their relationship is put to the ultimate test.

Last week, the official Instagram account dedicated to HBO Max shared a clip from the movie, where Barrymore’s character is talking to her sister, Corinne (played by actress Christina Applegate), about awkward moments during sexual intercourse.

In the comments sections, fans were excited to hear that the rom-com is streaming on the platform, with one person writing, “Such an underrated movie, Drew Barrymore and Justin Long were hilarious,” alongside a heart and laughing emoji. Another person instantly wanted to add the movie to their list after watching the funny clip, sharing, “Why have I not seen this movie yet? Adding to the queue now!”

Alongside Barrymore, Long and Applegate, Going the Distance features a talented ensemble cast, including stars like Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), Rob Riggle (21 Jump Street), Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl), June Diane Raphael (Grace and Frankie), Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Natalie Morales (Dead to Me).

Oh yeah, this calls for a rewatch.
