Cleaning Your Makeup Brushes Just Got Way Easier

No more standing at the sink for an hour

Our Sunday to-do list is 20 lines long of good intentions that almost never get done, and cleaning our makeup brushes is no exception. (We promise to get around to it next week or next month or definitely next year.) The ol' dish-soap-and-olive-oil routine definitely works, but we knew there had to be an easier way.

Enter the hot-pink, oven-mitt look-alike dubbed the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove. Even though it's (gulp) $39, we gave it a try and will never look back.

Here’s how it works: Instead of swirling your makeup brushes in the bottom of a bowl, the glove’s textured surface helps remove makeup residue by separating the brush fibers and catching, say, our leftover bronzer. Even with just water, we noticed the makeup particles sticking to the rubber surface like a magnet. The mitt also consists of different textures for washing different kinds of brushes, rinsing and refining (which straightens out the hairs before we laid them to dry).

Although we did find ourselves still squeezing the end of our brushes between our fingers to remove the last drops of water, we noticed that we used far less water and soap (yay!) and shaved a few minutes off the overall process. And cleanup was a breeze. All we had to do was rinse the surface of the glove, let it sit to dry and go enjoy our newly found Sunday afternoon.
